Fan Yun-Wa

Cyran Fan is a painter living in Hong Kong. His works are a fusion of oriental and western factors, with the uniqueness of oriental features and the play in colours influenced by western classicism. A gloomy atmosphere is created alongside the contrast of his amusing characters and playful movement. The characters wearing repeated smiley and cute faces reveal a sense of unease depression, whilst their empty eyes show a feeling of lethargy: their movements are seemingly intended to be playful, yet suggest moments of hesitation and weakness.
