Tucked just half a mile from Roch Castle, Sweet Home Alpaca is a working alpaca farm offering a truly memorable experience right on our doorstep. Run by Angela, Alex and their passionate team, the farm provides a unique opportunity for both visitors and locals to connect with these gentle, curious animals in a relaxed countryside setting.

Home to over 40 alpacas, each with their own bright and individual personality, Sweet Home Alpaca offers a range of experiences to suit all ages. From relaxed meet-and-greet sessions where you can learn how to handle, feed and understand the alpacas, to guided walks through the beautiful Pembrokeshire landscape, every visit is both engaging and unforgettable.

Meet & Greet

For a closer look at life on the farm, Sweet Home Alpaca’s meet and greet experiences offer a relaxed and engaging way to spend time with the herd. Available by advanced booking, these private tours give you the chance to get up close to the alpacas, learn about their daily routines, and experience the charm of the farm first-hand.

During your visit, you’ll be introduced to the alpacas and their wonderfully individual personalities, as well as the other animals on site. The knowledgeable team will guide you through how to feed, handle and interact with them, while sharing insights into their care—what they eat, where they rest, and how they’re kept happy and healthy.

These experiences last approximately one hour, giving you plenty of time to ask questions and enjoy meaningful interaction with the animals in a calm countryside setting.

Alpaca Walks

For a truly memorable countryside experience, Sweet Home Alpaca’s guided walks offer the chance to explore the Pembrokeshire landscape in some very charming company. These relaxed and engaging experiences invite you to connect with the alpacas while enjoying the beauty of the farm’s surroundings.

Your visit begins with an introduction to the herd, where you’ll meet the alpacas up close—including the dams (mums) and crias (babies)—and learn more about their gentle, inquisitive nature. The team will share insights into alpaca history, behaviour, and daily life, before showing you how to halter and handle your alpaca.

Once ready, you’ll set off on a leisurely walk across 22 acres of beautiful countryside, taking in the peaceful setting and, if you’re lucky, spotting some local wildlife along the way. With their playful personalities, the alpacas make wonderful walking companions—each one bringing something a little different to the experience.

Need to know:

  • Price: £30 per person (per alpaca)
  • Duration: Walk approximately 45 minutes (allow up to 2 hours for the full experience)
  • Children under 14 must be accompanied by a paying adult when walking an alpaca
  • Group bookings of 6 or more should enquire in advance for availability
