How do you get into rugby at St Davids RFC?
St Davids RFC has been providing an opportunity to play rugby on the peninsula for over 70 years. You can join St Davids RFC as a player from 6 years old joining our mixed, non-contact, tag rugby team, and at any age of our 8 sides all the way up to our men’s team. You don’t have to play to join, every team needs a coach, referee, groundsman, first aider, admin, chef, bar staff, the list of roles is never ending, and we are always grateful for any help.
What does it involve?
For St Davids RFC to put out 8 sides every weekend from under 7’s to men’s it involves over 100 players being able to train Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings, and playing on Saturdays or Sundays, travelling around the county every other weekend. It involves a huge commitment from players, families, and volunteers to run home games and travel to away games, a real community effort.
What are your goals?
Our overarching goal as a club is to provide facilities and support for all our current and future players to reach their potential through rugby on and off the field. Our short-term goals are to recruit and retain players and members to run as many sides as possible at St Davids RFC.
How will this sponsorship support you?
We are very grateful for the Retreats Group sponsorship. The main kit sponsor with the Twr y Felin logo on the front of the tops really helps foster a sense of a one club identity with every team from under 7’s all the way through to the men’s team, all wearing the same design kit. Also, the regular raffle prizes Retreats Group donates to help raise funds for children’s team tours, which help develop youngsters’ social skills as they travel away from home without their parents for the first time in some cases.
